There’s
always something to look forward to every spring—in high school, you have prom,
in college, you’re attending friends graduations until it’s your turn to
graduate, then, when you hit your mid twenties, the season’s filled with
wedding invites! I’m always on the
search for a fun casual dress to accompany me to spring festivities, but
nothing’s better than rediscovering old outfits hidden in your closet. I bought this strapless cocktail dress years
back, made a few alterations (since strapless dresses rarely fit me fresh off
the rack), and wore it countless times since then.
I
love the dress’s vibrant, pastel peach hue, delicate layers, and flattering
cut. This time around, I wore it for a
shoot in downtown LA. The pop of orange
stood out against Walt Disney Concert Hall’s metallic walls, while the smooth
structured material mimicked the fluid architecture surrounding me. I spent the afternoon waltzing down the steps
in my bright cocktail dress that somewhat reminded me of a shorter, more casual
version of Charlize Theron’s Oscars gown.
