Summer’s long gone, but I couldn’t help slipping into a maxi dress this past weekend despite the chilly weather…

I paired this lime green pleated maxi dress with a tan leather jacket and twirled around in LA’s winter breeze on a Saturday afternoon.

Like the Little Black Dress, white button up, and pearl necklace, a leather jacket is a wardrobe staple every woman should own.  I’ve always had a soft spot for fashion, and saving up for a leather jacket was one of my best 

investments. 

Since, you will be wearing it for decades, you should go for the real thing.  A leather jacket is…

1.     Timeless—actually one of the few things that appreciates with age

3.     can be worn 3 out of the 4 seasons of the year. 

This one in particular, is easy to pair with causal wear, subtly elevates an otherwise simple outfit, and can be weaved into multiple ensembles with its causal, yet trendy details.

When selecting the perfect leather jacket, consider the following:

1.     Try them on in person—when it comes to leather, it’s all about the feel.  Take your time searching, and find one that fits well, and conforms to your figure.

2.     As a more feminine person, I usually try to search for jackets with a soft, sleek edge… a leather piece that is elegant without being bulky or oversized

3.     Search for a versatile piece—something you can throw over a dress, or tank top and jeans.  The perfect leather jacket with give your outfit some edge while still maintaining a polished look!
