I’ve
always had a thing for maxi dresses—they’re easy, comfortable, and effortlessly
stylish, but when you’re only 5’2, flattering pieces, and ones that actually
fit for the matter, are quite difficult to come across.
Although it was too long for me at the time, I fell in love with this delicate, detailed, color blocked maxi, and didn’t need to think twice before purchasing it. I had my grandmother raise the shoulders, and though the dress was still a tad long, because it was part of BCBG’s runway collection, I couldn’t bear to trim off any fabric, ruining the carefully pieced together tulle, silk, and lace. Instead, I braved my 5-inch heels, and went to brunch in Malibu elevated a few inches. The dress strikes the perfect balance between flirty and classy, and adds a subtle hit of sexiness with a lower neckline.
Like a little girl, I twirled around when no one was watching and let my skirt dance in the wind after brunch.
