As much as
I love dressing up in LA, where everyone seems perfectly put together, I enjoy
moments where I can relax and dress down…
or, as comfortably as possible without looking like I rolled out of bed. This past week, I traded my heels for flats, and packed nothing but easy, go to staples for a short trip to Hawaii.

With my
minimalist suitcase, and nothing but the sky, sea, and ocean breeze in mind, I
had everything I needed for a few days in paradise. This past Sunday, I threw a light, crisp, and
incredibly comfortable A-line blouse top over stretchy floral jeans and headed
to the driving range for some father daughter-bonding time. Printed jeans initially intimidated me, but
this one has been a staple I’ve worn multiple times styled differently. It’s practical, versatile, and when paired
with a simple blouse, adds some life to an otherwise boring ensemble without
looking too over the top.
Though not
necessarily “golf-appropriate” (according to dad), I found my outfit fitting
for our Sunday venture. On the way to
the golf course, we stopped by a cliff along the highway, where I danced around
while my dad snapped away. At the edge
of the cliff, I spent a few moments staring out at sea and found this quote particularly fitting...
"She loves the serene brutality of the ocean, loves
the electric power she felt with each breath of wet, briny air”
