My mom is one of a
kind— quirky, straightforward, and absolutely gorgeous inside and
out.
As the strongest woman I know, she’s my best friend, mentor, and someone I will always love unconditionally. She’s the first person I’ll call when I have something exciting to share and the only person who knows my thoughts, feelings, and emotions inside and out before I even pick up the phone.

Over the years,
we’ve grown further apart, distance wise—she, in Hawaii and I, in LA, but
closer together emotionally as I share my road blocks, fears, and dreams with
her—many, flashbacks of her own past. I skip
along this comfortable path she’s worked so hard to pave for my sister and I,
and attribute much of who I am to her and her many lessons…
1. Develop a strong sense of self—take some time each day and learn
to learn to listen to your heart and give yourself the courage to follow
through with your passions. “Sometimes, our vision of what we want isn’t clear,
in that moment, listen to your heart, it can see.”
2. Learn to love yourself, and stop comparing—there will always be
people out there who are smarter, prettier, better; and there will always be
people who try to make you feel less than what you’re worth. That’s just life. But, if you’re confident with who you are, and happy with where you are, none of that will matter...“To love oneself is the beginning of
a lifelong romance”
3. Believe in the law of attraction—“What you think, you
create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become”— Fill your life
with positive energy and you’ll be rewarded with positive results...“Eliminate all doubt and replace it with the full
exception that you will receive what you are asking for"
