I chose a vintage drapey BCBG Runway number for a beach
shoot with photographer Jansen Teo. Off the shoulder numbers have
been flying off the shelves this season…so this one shoulder maxi was as much
elegant and playful as it was on trend. The asymmetrical hemline,
feminine silhouette, and light/silky fabrication made me feel like a Grecian
princess as I sunk my toes into the icy waters breaking
ashore.
For beach outings…
I always stick to lighter fabrications like silk, poly, and looser, novel silhouettes since they’re less restrictive, yet interesting enough to justify the lack of accessories
Washed out colors, pastels, and muted prints are a few of my go tos when dressing for the beach
When it comes to showing a bit of skin, I pick pieces that best flatter my body shape…I’m not too busty, so I opt for silhouettes that show more collarbones and legs than cleavage
This casual maxi in particular was functional enough for
an afternoon affair on the beach and so elegant it easily transitioned to
dinner by the sea after slipping into a pair of tall heels.
